Nevada is Considering Changing their Online Casino License Fee

There are currently two clashing opinions in the Nevada government. William Horne, the majority leader wants to up the amount that online casino owners have to pay for the license to develop a casino on the internet. The licenses are already quite expensive at around 500,000 to get one in the beginning. They don’t get much cheaper after you have had one for a while either, because you will have to pay an additional 250,000 dollars each time that you renew the license which has to be done on a yearly basis.
Those expensive fees would be doubled if it was up to Horne, but the governor and many other politicians don’t think that that is a good idea. They want to be competitive with other states, and although they have relatively low taxes compared to other states, Nevada would be much less attractive if they were to up those fees that high.
There is a good chance that the clause will be voted on to see if other politicians believe in the idea, but even if it does pass into law, the governor could veto it which makes the whole process pretty pointless since he has made his stance on the matter very clear.
