Senators’ Owners Unhappy With The Change In Mayor’s Decision

Ottawa mayor has come under a lot of fire after he turned down his own words and decision when it came to having a new casino in Ottawa. Owner of Ottawa senators argued that if the city decided to have only a new casino at the raceway, it could put the NFL franchise at risk.
There have been reports that there are a group of people in the community who were speaking about the negative aspects of gambling and perhaps this is the reason for the Mayor’s changed decision.
The Mayor announced that the Rideau Carleton Raceway will be the only place that has been selected for expanding the different gaming facilities. Further, the amount of gaming tables along with the hours during which the casinos can operate has been cut down as well. Definitely, a lot of white label casino providers are not happy with this decision.
Last month, Jim Watson, Ottawa mayor was eager to build two new casinos because not only are casinos a good way to attract tourists but they are an efficient form of entertainment and at the same time, it increase the revenues for the government as well. However, in less than a month, he has changed his decision and the owners of Ottawa senators are not happy with it.
They were vocal about their discontentment as they were stating how much they do for the community and they are not getting back their due share. A formal presentation as made by the entertainment group to convince the need for greater gaming facilities but to no avail.
